Ayurveda is a system dates back 5,000 years to the ancient Sanskrit texts, the Vedas.
Translates as “knowledge of life,” it examines physical constitution, emotional nature,
and spiritual outlook.
THE BASIC PRINCIPLES
When we look to the beauty of nature, we find that five elements provide the foundation for the entire physical world. Ayurveda recognizes these elements-space, air, fire, water, and earth-as the building blocks for the universe as well as for humans.
From the combination of these elements, three "doshas" or energies : Vata, Pitta, Kapha are originated. Every person has a unique constitution that depends upon the right balance of the three doshas.
The doshas are dynamic energies that constantly change in response to our actions, thoughts, emotions, the foods we eat, the seasons and any other sensory inputs that feed our mind and body. Everything that enters an individuals body has to be digested!
When we are aligned with our individual natures, we naturally make lifestyle and dietary decisions that foster balance within our doshas. When we are disconnected from our individual natures, we support unhealthy patterns that lead to imbalances. Ayurveda suggests specific lifestyle and dietary changes to help individuals in balancing the doshas.

What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is the sister science of Yoga and is one of the most ancient sciences of the world.
AYURVEDA IS BASED UPON THE LAWS OF NATURE, it emphasizes balance and harmony with help from nature itself, such as, food and herbs. It is a complete medical science that offers us a holistic guidemap for awakening our healing potential.
The goal of Ayurveda is to balance all aspects of the individual's life: physical, physiological, mental, behavioral, emotional, spiritual, familial and social. Thus, Ayurveda treats the individual with all three dimensions: BODY, MIND and SPIRIT, placing more emphasis on the prevention of disease with the help of diet, daily routines, and seasonal routines.
By achieving balance in all of these levels of being is the true measurement of vibrant health. EVERY INDIVIDUAL IS A ONE-OF-A-KIND with an equally unique blueprint for health. By providing a universal framework for understanding these blueprints, Ayurveda teaches us to honor and support our true individual nature. In essence, Ayurveda connects us with our unique body's natural intelligence.
